Japan and local education agencies in Cambodia will sign a grant assistance agreement for improving the education system, a press release from the Japanese embassy said on Thursday.
“The grant aid is under the economic cooperation framework, and the Grant Assistance for Grassroots of Human Security Projects (“KUSANONE” Grant), the Government of Japan will provide a total of US$170,880 to three recipient organizations,” it said.
The Project for Providing Secondhand School Equipment to 4 Primary Schools in Phnom Penh Municipality will receive US$74,259 along with the Department of Education, Youth and Sport of Phnom Penh Municipality. The amount of US$62,969 is for the Project for Providing Secondhand School Equipment to 5 Primary Schools in Prey Veng Province, with the recipient the Department of Education, Youth and Sport of Prey Veng Province. Another US$33,652 is for the Project for Providing Secondhand School Equipment to 3 Primary Schools in Battambang Province with the recipient the Depart-ment of Education, Youth and Sport of Battambang province
The Grant Contracts will be signed at the Embassy of Japan between Kuroki Masafumi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Cambodia, and representatives of the recipient organizations, it added.
